A Member of Auburn’s Crew Team For All Four Years

Time management is something that many students want to achieve throughout their college career. With papers to write, meetings to attend and deadlines to make, it’s difficult to do everything. Jenna Trump, a senior at Auburn University, has managed her time successfully for the last four years.

As a freshman, Trump decided to join Auburn’s crew team. She had enjoyed playing sports in the past and decided to discuss the idea with a friend currently on the team. “I just decided it was something different and sounded like a lot of fun, said Trump.

Being a member of the Auburn crew team is a large time commitment. She attends practice every day at 4:30 a.m., for a few hours, and again at night, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Over the weekend the team also spends time traveling to races. Although Trump is a full time student and is involved in other activities, she finds that it is easier to manage her time when she has a full schedule. “I have to plan out my day and organize things, where as if I have too much time I let time slip away, said Trump.

One of Trump’s favorite parts about being a member of the team is the people. “The people are down to earth and I’ve formed some of my best friends, we don’t mind spending 24 hours-a-day together, said Trump. She also enjoys the race site in Chattanooga, Tenn. It is one of the team’s biggest races in the fall and provides great competition.

Over the last four years, the Auburn crew team has not only helped Trump keep in shape, but also help her form friendships and learn how to manage her time.
