Rachael O’Dea :: Business Administration

RRachael O’Dea is a senior at Auburn University with a major in business administration and a minor in logistics. She is graduating this December and plans to return to her hometown, Memphis, Tenn.

Her dad is a doctor and inspired her to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales. She loves business and medicine, so working as a pharmaceutical sales representative is a perfect combination of the two. Rachael wants to work for Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and job shadowed with them last month.

This semester is going to be a hard one, though. The senior capstone for business majors is strategic management, a class where groups compete against each other in a business simulation. Her group has to identify what problems a business is having and then fix them. The groups are ranked and grades are assigned according to the ranking.

During her years at Auburn, Rachael has been involved with many activities. She is a Delta Zeta and was parliamentarian, “because I’m really loud. She was a lacrosse hostess, a Tiger Splasher and is now a member of the Auburn Supply Chain Management Association.

Rachael loves Auburn football and her favorite Auburn memory is when she broke into the football stadium in 2004, the year the Auburn football team went undefeated, and made grass angels on the 50 yard line.

She has enjoyed her time at Auburn, but she is a Memphis girl. She loves blues, BBQ and watching the sunset on the Mississippi River. She has never eaten BBQ in Alabama, and says she never will.
