The program keeps fans well informed of all the gameday information they would ever want to know while offering feature stories on items that quench the appetite of the hungriest reader.
Auburn publishes the program every weekend that the Tigers play football at home. Articles range from feature stories on Auburn senior football players to recaps of significant games in Auburn history to “Where Are They Now” pieces on former Tiger greats. Auburn frequently sells thousands of copies of the program every game-week.
The Auburn Football Illustrated is published by the Mike Hubbard, director of the Auburn ISP Sports Network and Kirk Sampson, media relations director, serves as the associate publisher. Carol White is in charge of editing the program and assigning articles to the media relations staff, who write them.
Gary Thorne, writer of several articles in this year’s programs said “It is such a big deal to think that I write for an award winning publication. I think it just shows what Auburn is capable of.”
The next program will be available for the Vanderbilt game. It will contain several articles dealing with the 1957 national championship team, as this is the 50th anniversary of that season and the Vanderbilt game is when the team will be officially recognized. All the programs this season will contain features on the 1957 team, including recaps of each big game from that team.
The Auburn Football Illustrated is available inside Jordan-Hare Stadium before and during each game. Voting for the award is conducted by a COSIDA committee. Clemson finished second in the voting with The Ohio State University finishing third.
