Bringing Laughter to Auburn
A fter a long nine weeks of school students are in need of some serious comic relief. Midterms have come and gone and left students sleep deprived and sick of studying.
The University Programs Council (UPC) has taken note of the campus-wide lull and has decided to take action. UPC does its best to bring innovative and exciting activities to the student body, and this time they have outdone themselves. Ever since the spring, UPC has been working tirelessly to bring a big name to Auburn and their hard work has finally paid off.
On Tuesday Oct. 21, Jim Gaffigan is coming to Auburn. Gaffigan is a comedian that has been on shows such as Conan O’brien and My Boys. After a long and stressful nine weeks of school Auburn students deserve some sort of reprieve and Gaffigan will be here to deliver comedic relief.
Meredith Craig is the assistant director to the speakers and comedians committee of UPC. She has been working constantly to ensure that everything goes smoothly upon Gaffigan’s arrival. Craig assisted in designing and printing tickets and T-shirts for the event. She also monitored ticket sales. In order to publicize the event Craig and other members of UPC distributed flyers and hung signs around campus.
Jim Gaffigan’s arrival to Auburn’s campus is highly anticipated and will prove to be a great relief to the stressed and overworked student body. Gaffigan’s arrival to Auburn will not just be a stress relieving experience, it will be a comedic one at that.
