ursing students Rebekah Hackney and Mary Owen are two examples of the good character that the nursing school looks for in its candidates. Not only are they good students, but they have the desire to help people and be involved in the community as well.
Around Auburn, nursing students are doing their part to strive for a better community. For example, Owen is involved with a program that allows her to help screen for Scoliosis. For preventative measures it is federally mandated that children ages 10-14 be examined for Scoliosis. Owen personally helps screen the children and recommend further actions if necessary.
Hackney, as well as other nursing students, works closely with Auburn Housing Authority to teach children important facts about safety. Hackney will be giving information to her group of children regarding 911 and other emergency information.
Including these specific assignments, all nursing students participate in clinical work that allows them to get hands-on experience working in hospitals. Every student will get a glimpse of different activities in hospitals in
Because of their dedication, Auburn will be a better place.
