STEPs to a Successful College Career

The transition from high school to college is difficult. Some students have a harder time than others and that is why the Summer Transition Enhancement Program (STEP) was created at Auburn.

Students participating in the STEP program come and live on Auburn’s campus for eight weeks during the summer before they are scheduled to attend classes in the fall semester. During those eight weeks, the students take introductory classes, attend study halls and begin to acclimate to college life.

Suzanne Free is an Auburn graduate student who served two summers as a STEP program councelor. In her video, she talks about the details of the STEP program, what it was like to be a councelor and how you can become a councelor too.
