Walking In A Winter Wonderland

This Friday, November 2, UPC presents its annual semester event, Tiger Nights. Tiger Nights provides a carnival like atmosphere with several activities, food and music for students to enjoy. The event is held in and around Foy Student Union from 6-12 PM. It is a free event for Auburn University students and $5 to the general public.

“Tiger Nights is a great opportunity for AU students, faculty, staff and alumni to come together and enjoy fun activities with each other. The event has so much going on that it appeals to the kid in all of us,� Michelle Murphy, the advisor of UPC said.

This fall’s theme is “Winter Magic.� The evening will be filled with fun for all ages. There are several inflatables including: The bungee run, a rock wall, the eliminator, the bungee tramp, and a mechanical bull. Other booths will include caricature artists, wax hands, and photo key chains.

The live music will be set up on Cater Lawn. This years performers include street magician Jason Michaels and singer Corey Smith. Corey Smith is a country/rock singer that is Georgia native but plays in Atlanta, Auburn and other near by regions frequently. “The music is my favorite part. It is a great chance for students to hear good live music for free. It is also a fun thing to get your friends together and do on a Friday night,� student Bebe Battles said.

There is also a plethora of food for guests to enjoy as they mingle amongst the activities. Winter Magic’s food includes pizza, cotton candy, shaved ice and much more!

Beyond these wonderful outdoors activities and games the Foy Ballroom will provide the feel of a ski lodge. The lodge will be equipped with video games, board games, hot choclate, snacks and music. The lodge provides a place for guests to come in, relax, and warm up.

Winter Magic is sure to be a fun filled evening so come and check out the winter wonders this event has to offer.

Tiger nights is put on by UPC, and its’ volunteers work hard throughout the year to put on this special event. UPC’s council and committee members work the event, providing guest with a memorable experience. Tiger Nights is one of the largest late night programs amongst universities. “Tiger Nights is so much fun to work because it is one of the biggest events we do all year. You can definitely tell all the work we put in is worth it when you see the line of people waiting to get in. Everyone is always talking about how much they love it and it makes me feel great to know that I planned something so many people enjoy!â€? said UPC council member Emily Dorman.
