SGA Works for the Students

The responsibility of the student government association has always been to serve the student body. I caught up with Bo Stone, the SGA secretary of student relations, to ask him what was new with the SGA.

This secretary group in particular works to increase communication between the students and the university. He said that the secretary group consists of liaisons that act as voices for the students. These liaisons do research and report an accurate representation of the student body opinion. The group then takes these opinions into account and develops ways to better serve the students.

The project “Better Relations Day” is under this particular group as well. This project is a long standing tradition between Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia. This day enables students from Auburn to interact with students from the other two universities, and by doing this we can better understand how each university operates.

Lastly, he also mentioned that a new position, director of student services, has also been developed. This position is serving to further streamline the SGA’s ability to reach the students. In conclusion, the SGA wants to serve the student body, and is working to find effective ways to do that.
