UPC Art Exhibition

T

he Auburn University Program Council, more commonly known asĀ  UPC, is a student led-program and entertainment committee.

Through this organization, Auburn University is able to put on many events according to student’s interests and suggestions. Some of these events include free movies, concerts, comedians, workshops, lectures and cultural performances.

UPC is made up of 11 committees. UPC member Katherine Araszkiewicz holds a position on the fine arts committee. She is currently promoting is the Student Art Exhibition.

During the Art Exhibition, students submit their own artwork and then students vote for their favorite piece. A second half is weighted by the judges favorite and the winner wins a cash prize. There were seven pieces of artwork displayed on the concourse for any student to vote for their favorite.

Another one of UPC’s biggest events is Tiger Nights, which is held during one night each semester, featuring a main stage concert, games and free food. Carnival type stations and inflatables are also made available to all those who attend. UPC prides itself in bringing in well-known bands for this night, such as Matt Wertz, Diamond Rio, Edwin McCain, Ryan Cabrera and The Wailers.

UPC works extremely hard to meet the desires of students here on Auburn’s campus.
