AU Theatre Presents One of Shakespeare’s Finest

T

he course of true love never did run smooth.�  This famous quotation often used to describe relationships was written by none other than Mr. William Shakespeare himself.  The quote comes from one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies- “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.� The play is a humorous story about four young Athenian lovers and a troupe of actors who find themselves lost in a forest full of fairies.
 
The production is currently being presented by the Auburn University Theatre.  The text of the play has been cut down in order to allow the placement of more than 10 songs throughout the production, giving it a new and upbeat twist.  The songs range in style from Frank Sinatra to TLC.
 
“I absolutely love going to plays, and I love all Broadway and theatre productions, and I must say this is one of the best plays I have ever seen!  I hope everyone gets a chance to go see it,� says Shaye Smith, an Auburn University sophomore.
 
The play will be running Nov. 13-16.  Admission is free for all Auburn University students with a valid student ID.  The cost for the general public is $20.  For Auburn University faculty and staff and for senior citizens, the cost is $15.  The cost is $10 for grade school and high school students.  For more information or tickets, call 334-844-4154.
