Auburn May Have Lost to Alabama…and Not in Football

For the first time since 1999 Auburn may lose to Alabama in the Beat Bama Food Drive. As of Wednesday Auburn was trailing the University of Alabama by 20,305 pounds.

Students and community members were motivated to donate to the drive not only to beat Alabama, but because the food bank supplies have been low for the past three months.

Auburn’s 2007 food drive goal was 200,000 pounds, which we were clearly far from reaching. The drive ended today at noon and we can only hope there were some serious last minute donations.

The East Alabama Food Bank gives food to 184 agencies in six Alabama counties.
