any Walters is a senior in public relations at Auburn University. She is currently interning with the Jule Collins Smith Museum. At the museum, Mandy writes press releases about exhibits and speakers she also creates slide shows. One of Mandy’s favorite projects was creating a slideshow for the Bridal Expo. The City of Auburn puts this event on for all people interested in the new wedding trends.
Mandy believes interning is an important part of the public relations major. Experience is vital in the public relations industry. Most firms and agencies recruit college graduates with experience and if they don’t have the experience they will usually offer the graduate an internship.
While interning for the entire spring semester, Mandy plans on learning many aspects of the public relations industry especially in the area of event planning. She believes that the Jule Collins Smith Museum is a great place for any public relations or communications major to intern.
