The Big Event to be a Big Success
The Big Event is taking place this Saturday, February 16th in Auburn and its surrounding communities. Since 2003, the Student Government Association has hosted this opportunity for students which they modeled after Texas A&M’s large community service project.
The goal for this year is to get 1,000 students involved in at least 50 projects. The Director of The Big Event, Trey Mann, is hopeful that this will be the biggest turnout for Auburn students yet.
Some of the projects students have done in the past through this opportunity include working for Habitat for Humanity, the Boys & Girls’ Club, the foodbank, Storybrook Farms and Camp ASCCA.
This “thank you” day offers a chance for students to give back to the community that has given them so much while furthering their education. If you’re interested, visit SGA’s Web site at www.auburn/edu/sga or contact the SGA Office at 844-4240.
