Ignite Auburn
Ignite Auburn is a national organization that is partnered with the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids that works for the prevention of youth smoking and works to keep politicians accountable. A former Miss Auburn University, Rachel Evans, founded the organization. Members of the organization engage in both local and statewide advocacy for tobacco policy change. They constantly pressure politicians to reject campaign contributions from tobacco companies and their interests, and also inform voters of tobacco issues in key elections.
The organization meets on the first Tuesday of every month in Foy Student Union room 205. The meetings begin at 5 p.m. For more information visit www.auburn.edu/ignite or you can send questions to ignite@auburn.edu.
Listen in on my interview with Leah Huskey, the Vice President of Ignite Auburn. She shares about how she first got involved with the organization and also talks about some upcoming events that they have going on.
