Seeing Spain as an Au Pair

After graduation, most students set out to find a job and career path. Some choose to take some time off. Others choose to travel and see the world. Sara Barber, a senior at Auburn, is choosing to be an au pair for a family in Spain.

Sara is leaving a week after graduation for Madrid to help look after two children for a Spanish family. Their objective in hiring an au pair is not just childcare, but also language. Sara will be expected to speak to the children in English so they become experienced in listening and speaking the language. She will be living and working there for a whole year and is looking forward to this cultural experience.
