8-Foy-Foy-Foy-2-Foy-Foy
That silly number students learn at freshman orientation is more than just a useful tool for Auburn students. Last semester, it was listed on the Today Show as the top five numbers to keep in cell phones.
This helpline is open until late at night so that students, or actually anyone, can call and ask random questions. Some call for directions, others for movie times and then there are those who call because they have nothing else better to do.
“Sometimes people ask really perverted questions, said Kelli Ferguson. “I just ask them if they would say that to their grandmother.
Since the Today Show, a lot of the phone calls are from non-Auburn students, mostly in New York or California.
“It’s fun to work here because I get to talk to people from all over the country, said Ferguson.
Congratulations to Auburn for a successful helpline; perhaps a line should be added to the creed: “I believe in James E. Foy.
