Gospel Choir’s spring concert was a hit
Auburn University’s Gospel Choir sounded through the sanctuary at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church yesterday in Montgomery. The church pews were full as the choir only has excellent reviews.
Lauren McDowell, a senior in the choir, said this was her favorite concert so far.
“We’ve never done so much improv as we did today, said McDowell. “The energy was really high from the choir and the crowd which made it so much fun.
Morning Pilgrim’s very own Warren Mitchell is a senior in the choir, whom they recognized in the program for receiving an outstanding scholarship award from Oklahoma City University.
The church’s choir opened up for Auburn who in turn sang two sets with an intermission in between. Following the performance was dinner provided by church members.
“There was all sorts of southern traditional home-style food like fried chicken and macaroni and cheese and it was awesome, said McDowell.
