Recycling On The Plains

Auburn University is celebrating “America Recycles Day� today on the plains. The AU Recycling program is sponsoring the second annual Recycling“Landfill on the Lawn� event at Cater Lawn from 1-3 p.m. today.

This event will collect percentages of recycled trash from the university’s single-stream recycling program. This in turn, will be used for the Recyclemania Competition, which is held in the spring. (more…)

Campus Safety

With the recent questioning of campus safety, Auburn University is leading the way. This past week Auburn announced the new AU Alert System.

AU Alert allows students, faculty and staff to receive mass emergency messages through e-mail, voice and text messages. (more…)

Pumpkin Carving on The Plains

W ith Halloween only five days away, it is time to get ready for ghosts, goblins and monsters. Come down to the Dudley Courtyard to get in the Halloween spirit with pumpkin carving, tasty treats, face painting and more. The Pumpkin Carve is October 26 from 9 am to 5 pm.

The Auburn University’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students is sponsoring the 19th annual Pumpkin Carve.

All It Takes Is 19 Cents

ou may have noticed the life-sized wooden letters that spell out HUNGER on Cater Lawn this week. It is because Auburn University’s Committee of 19 is sponsoring the first ever Hunger Awareness Week from October 15 through 19.

Monday the Stop Hunger Now truck will be in Auburn from 9-4. The Committee of 19 Pennywill package 100,000 meals with help from Auburn students and faculty. The meals will be shipped to Tanzania to feed children. Their goal is to have 450 volunteers help package food.

The 2007 World Food Day Teleconference on “Climate: Changes, Challenges and Consequences� will be Tuesday from 11-2. It will downloaded in Comer Hall 109 from 1-2.
