Rescue Me

Are you looking for the perfect companion? He or she may just be waiting for you at the Alabama Pug Rescue.

The Alabama Pug Rescue is an organization that takes in stray pugs as well as pugs that can no longer be taken care of by the current owner. The organization then makes sure that the dogs are well taken care of and placed in a loving home.

Samantha Hottell is an Auburn student who holds the Alabama Pug Rescue in high esteem. That is because Sam’s dog Minervia Elizabeth, or Minnie, was saved by the organization after being abandoned and hit by a car. Now, Sam participates in many of the events that held each year to raise money for the Rescue.

Watch the video to find out more about Sam and Minnie.

Previously adult heartworms were believed to be the only dangerous kind.  “This [study] redefines the diseases in cats and it emphasizes the need for prevention,” said Ray Dillion, the Jack O. Rash Chair of Medicine in Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  At the 2007 American College of Veterinary Intenal Medicine Forum in Seattle, Dillion presented the study.  It was also published in a parasitology supplement to the scientific jouranl, Veternary Medicine.

No Horsing Around

It came straight from the horses mouth. Literally.

Auburn University’s Dr. Cindy McCall has been researching a certain behavior in horses for the past 10 years. This project was inspired by a student who is now far from the plains, but it continues to be a priority for McCall.
