Evolution of the Iron Bowl

With Auburn’s biggest football game coming up, I decided to give a bit of fun history about Iron Bowl and the intense rivalry that has divided the state for years.

For 40 years one of the biggest football rivalries in the nation was put on hold. After The Auburn vs. Alabama game in 1907, the coaches of each team could not agree on details for the next year’s game. Due to bad blood between the two schools, the teams did not play each other in any type of athletic event until 1948.

Although there are many rumors of why the teams ceased their athletic relations for almost half of a century, it boiled down to bad relations between the rivals. At the time, the coaches of the two teams could not decide on lodging for the away team, various expenses, who would official, as well as on field legalities.

Pumpkin Carve

The leaves are changing colors and falling to the ground. The air has become cool and crisp. It looks like it will not be summer forever! As the season changes, we look forward to fall holidays. Halloween is five days away!

With Halloween falling on a week day, many celebrations begin this weekend. You do not even need to leave campus! Today is the 19th annual Pumpkin Carve. (more…)

Pumpkin Carving on The Plains

W ith Halloween only five days away, it is time to get ready for ghosts, goblins and monsters. Come down to the Dudley Courtyard to get in the Halloween spirit with pumpkin carving, tasty treats, face painting and more. The Pumpkin Carve is October 26 from 9 am to 5 pm.

The Auburn University’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students is sponsoring the 19th annual Pumpkin Carve.

The Most Popular Guy on Auburn’s Campus

The women love him. The men want to be him. Every student at Auburn knows his sweet, furry, friendly smile. People young and old flock to him for autographs and photos.

Who is he? No, he’s no football star or hip musician. He’s Aubie the Tiger, Auburn’s official mascot.
