Andrew Henley: JCSM Education Curator

Andrew came to Auburn University’s Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art from Toledo, Ohio. Andrew’s mother and father graduated from Auburn, so after gaining his education from the University of Toledo, he was eager to finally become a part of the Auburn family. Andrew has only been working at the museum for about six months, but he has already proven himself to be an asset to the staff. He has reached out to schools, encouraging field trips to the museum for middle school students, as well as working with younger children on Saturday mornings.

The Auburn Chamber of Commerce

Ashley Bond senior in public relations at Auburn University is interning at The Auburn Chamber of Commerce. She is the personal assistant and intern to the director of communications and marketing there.

Ashley has worked meticulously updating information on their website as well as learning about all the different facets there. Another thing that Ashley has worked particularly on is The Auburn Chamber of Commerce’s e-newsletter that shows a list of events going on in the community.

She has thoroughly enjoyed her internship there thus far, and calls it a valuable experience. The staff has allowed her to try things out on her own, and she looks forwards to finding a job that will bring her as many rewards as this internship has.

She is now a stay-at-home mom to Porter, a beautiful 11 month old baby boy, who keeps her very entertained and busy. Before becoming a mom, she used her degree she obtained from Auburn and taught kindergarten and first grade at a number of different schools all over the state of Alabama. Some of the schools Mrs. Johnson has taught at are Warrior Academy, Crestline Elementary and St. James School. Listen as Mrs. Johnson shares with me the impact that Auburn had on her and her life.
