Working in Washington

There are only a few people that have had the experience of working in Washington D.C. It is an experience that many people apply for and do not get it. For Mary Jane Stacy, she is one of the few who got the opportunity.  Mary Jane is a senior in Communications who got the experience of working in Washington last summer as a junior. Stacy said it was a great experience believes it gave her more opportunities than she thought. Watch her video describing her responsibilities and what she as expected to do in Washington.

Life After Graduation

With graduation only months away, some students are looking ahead for life after graduation. Emily Provow, senior at Auburn University, is interning this summer at an event planning company in Atlanta, Ga. This internship is required for her major, public relations, for graduation.

Provow will be working at Atlanta Arrangements, a destination management company, for 10 weeks. The internship will be full-time with a 40-hour work week. With Atlanta Arrangements, Provow will be working the sales team and operations department.

Katie’s Future In NYC

Katie Brunson is a senior at Auburn University. She is majoring in Apparel Merchandising and getting a minor in Business. This past summer she applied for many internships in New York City and managed to get the one that would take her far and keep her there.

Brunson interned at The Globe Showroom where she learned about sales among the fashion business world. The Globe Showroom made it possible for Brunson to actually like her work. She is one of a very few who luck out on their first internship and from it score a job that they love.

In this interview Brunson explains a little bit about working at The Globe Showroom. She also talks about how The Globe asked her to come back this year to work during a few shows. Brunson completes the interview by discussing her plans for her future, which involves a permanent job at the showroom and living in New York for a while.

From Toomers to the Big Ben

ichelle Romano is busy preparing and planning for her upcoming summer. She and and 16 other Auburn students will be working in London for seven weeks with the College of Business EUSA London Business Internship Program.

The students will receive 6 credit hours for taking a international finance class with Dr. Beverly Marshall. The interns will work Monday through Thursday and have the opportunity to travel over the weekends. Michelle is majoring in Business Administration with a emphasis on Marketing. She hopes to intern with a marketing firm in London.

Auburn Student Goes Abroad

Allison McDonald, a senior in human resource management, discusses the benefits of going abroad. Auburn University offers many different programs for students to see different parts of the world.

Some students take classes, while some participate in internships and get great experience in international business. Studying abroad is not just for foreign language majors and minors, but can create life experiences for all students. Students can learn all about the world while receiving class credits.
