Enhancing the Safety on Campus

The tragedy of Virgina Tech last April shook up many college campuses about the fear of campus violence coming on to its campuses. Many colleges have begun setting up new safety systems that will notify every individual about any type of danger that may be taken place on the campus. Auburn has become a new addition to the colleges that are wanting to maintain and
enhance the safety on its campus.

Media InForum

Auburn University’s first Media Inforum will be held October 12 in the auditorium at the Jule Collins Smith Museum. Media InForum is a forum for Auburn University Alumni and students in the media field to exchange ideas. Jule Collins

The Media Inforum will focus on learning about script writing, publishing, advertising, getting an agent and creating a television reality show. The lecture topics range from “A Career on Camera,� “Writing for the Hollywood Dollar,� “Artist’s Representation,� “Print Journalism Today,� “Advertising in Our Society.� At the end of the day a panel discussion will close the forum.

Wow, This Stuff Really is Important

Those of us studying Public Relations here at Auburn University do not realize just how lucky we are. Week after week many people complain about blog entries, website development, etc. and talk about how these tasks are nothing but “busy work.�  Up until Wednesday afternoon I was one of those people.  I hated these blog entries and I was completely overwhelmed learning about podcasts, RSS feeds, social media releases…the list goes on.
