Worlds Away

Zach Furr is a senior majoring in history at Auburn. Last summer, however, he switched his focus from history to english…in Hong Kong. Zach was part of an organization called the English Language Institute (ELI) that hosts teams of U.S. college students each summer to teach English to children from mainland China.

Traveling Abroad on a Whim

radley Banks is a senior majoring in Finance from Cleveland, Tennessee.  Banks planned to graduate from Auburn in May, but after being encouraged by one of his professors to participate in the study abroad program, he changed his mind.

Banks will spend one week in Auburn this summer taking a very condensed version of a Strategic Management course, which is required for his major.  But after spending this week in the classroom, Banks and the other students in the class will head to Europe to apply what they have learned.  The students will be making visits to many different companies all over Poland and Estonia.

Banks will graduate in August after he completes this program.  Watch the video below to hear Banks talk about the study abroad program.

From Toomers to the Big Ben

ichelle Romano is busy preparing and planning for her upcoming summer. She and and 16 other Auburn students will be working in London for seven weeks with the College of Business EUSA London Business Internship Program.

The students will receive 6 credit hours for taking a international finance class with Dr. Beverly Marshall. The interns will work Monday through Thursday and have the opportunity to travel over the weekends. Michelle is majoring in Business Administration with a emphasis on Marketing. She hopes to intern with a marketing firm in London.

Auburn Student Goes Abroad

Allison McDonald, a senior in human resource management, discusses the benefits of going abroad. Auburn University offers many different programs for students to see different parts of the world.

Some students take classes, while some participate in internships and get great experience in international business. Studying abroad is not just for foreign language majors and minors, but can create life experiences for all students. Students can learn all about the world while receiving class credits.

Susan in Spain

Susan Shields, a senior at Auburn University, just returned from a long semester abroad. This past fall Susan went to Spain to pursue her love for the Spanish language and culture.

Susan took classes while in Spain and also found time to travel to many places throughout Europe. She visited places such as Rome, Paris, Portugal, London and many more. Susan can now speak and understand the Spanish language and plans on going back.
